Turbocharger is a type of technology which uses the fuel exhausting from the internal Combustion Engine to drive the air compressor. Turbocharger function is similar to the function of supercharger , both can increase the air flow of internal combustion engine and the boiler to improve machine efficiency. Commonly turbocharger is used for automobile engine, it can improve outputting power of the internal combustion engine as it uses the heat and flow of exhausting
Target of pressurize
Turbocharger’s main role is to improve the engine intake and to increase engine power and torque. An engine with a turbocharger, compared to one without it, increases its power by 40% or more. This means that an engine with a booster can have greater power. Our most common 1.8T turbo engines with a booster can reach the power of 2.4L while maintaining the fuel consumption level of the 1.8 engines. As a result, it improves the fuel economy and reduces tailpipe emissions.
Negative effects
The working pressure and temperature of the engine increase a lot after pressurized air, so the engine life will be shorter than the engine without pressurized air under the same displacement, the mechanical properties and lubricating performance are affected too, it also limits the application of turbo technology on the engine to some extent.
